This weekend (well, actually this past week) has been a non-stop goodbye fest. It’s a bittersweet meeting because 1. we are celebrating this new adventure as we step out to do the ministry that God has set before us and 2. we will be moving far away and will not return for at least a year. I know that many people move away from their loved ones everyday, but we both have always had ours close by. It’s going to be strange not having them within 20 minutes of our home.
Saturday we took two of our nieces, Bethany (who’s 15) and Tristen (who’s eight) to the Dallas Arboretum for their Dallas Blooms event. It was a beautiful day and a great time to have our last hoorah before taking off. Here are some of our pictures. I love these girls so much…(and all my nieces and nephews, too, of course)…

Re: last picture… you look like you’re being goofy, tristen looks like she’s really serious, bethany looks like “this is lame…” … Funny stuff
thanks for taking her (mine), she had a great time even though she’s not a fan of Josh’s picking/poking…

I was wanting to look serious, but Bethany was making me laugh…she totally thought “this is lame” …it was fun trying to get a 15 year old to let loose a bit and be carefree like a child. Later in the day, there were these haystack steer that Tristen and I wrestled to the ground. Bethany went along with us, but her heart wasn’t in it… she was a good sport., though.
